Guest Phil Reid Posted February 24, 2004 Report Posted February 24, 2004 I've got a 1999 2.3 manual GhiaX and am having trouble engaging reverse gear, especially first thing in the morning. Sometimes, I have to put slight pressure on the gear lever to stop iit popping out of gear. There's no problem with any of the other gears. Is this an adjustment problem, or something more ominous? Thanks... Quote
Guest Phil Reid Posted February 24, 2004 Report Posted February 24, 2004 SORRY I MEANT REVERSE GEAR! Quote
seatkid Posted February 24, 2004 Report Posted February 24, 2004 Sounds like the cables need adjusting. The Ford procedure requires a special tool to lock the gearlever in a certain position and adjustment is carried out at the gearstick end under the centre console. looks rather tricky. Quote
